THE STORY BEHIND inSPECHTions
Steve Specht has built his life and career on a commitment to public safety and helping others. As far as entering homes and businesses, that’s nothing new for him.
It all started when he was 15 years old; he began building homes and condos with a major construction firm. That’s when he first learned about a building’s major structural systems, everything from framing, roofing, plumbing and electricity to painting, sheetrock, repair work, and even carpentry.
As he continued to grow and evolve his own tool belt, he became a public servant for the Stockton Fire Department. Starting as a firefighter, he worked his way up the ladder and ultimately, became a Fire Captain. Because of his firefighting background, he’s highly familiar with inspections utilizing National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
During his career with the Stockton Fire Department, he continued to do construction work on the side. This allowed him to understand buildings and homes in every way–from a homeowner’s perspective, to a construction worker, and to a firefighter.
After his fire career, he worked as a Superintendent for a commercial firm, building large commercial retail spaces all along the west coast.
His passion for people and helping others–along with his background in understanding the importance of safety and transparency–has naturally drawn him into Orange County home inspections and light commercial services.
